HPV SELF-SAMPLING SYMPOSIUM
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 14, 2016
The HPV Self-sampling Symposium is part of a research study conducted by Drs. Mandana Vahabi at Ryerson University, Daphne Cockwell School of Nursing and Aisha Lofters at St. Michael’s Hospital Department of Family and Community Medicine, University of Toronto, to explore the challenges faced in the provision of HPV self-sampling in current provincial cervical cancer screening programs in Canada and to begin to lay out a framework for addressing these challenges.
This study is funded by a Canadian Institutes of Health Research Planning and Dissemination Grant and further sponsored by Roche Canada.
As expected, we had over 50 key opinion leaders from Canada and various countries from around the world including the Finland, Netherlands, and Australia. This included influential speaker presentations and discussions. Many viewpointss were represented including the public health researchers, cancer screening organizations and provincial/national governing bodies.
The Symposium provided an opportunity to participate in an exciting and ground-breaking project. Follow this link for a PDF summary of the Facilitated Brainstorming Session.
